Nathan sat at the computer, entering file numbers, happy as a clam. The Queen Alien was leaving him alone, but the reasons why were not anything anyone wanted to talk about.

Bored with typing, Nathan stood and went to the stack of books that had to go back to the shelves, the last books Vic had wanted. Sighing, he pushed the cart toward the stacks and stopped before a huge bookcase.  He saw the first hole where a book belonged, located the book and picked it up.  "Hello hole, I have a book for you.  Hello book, I'm sending you home."

Nathan reached out to put the book away, but the one sitting next to it slid over and filled the gap.  This took Nathan aback a moment.  "OK, book, let's try this again."  He slid the books apart for a space and tried to put the original book away again, but the neighbor books weren't having it.  "Well, little book, it seems your neighbors don't want you home anymore.  I'll see if they'll let you move back in later."

He put it back on his cart and moved onto the next section to return the books.  These were books that Vic had used.  It was as if the greatest member of the Illuminati was still around if his things were still there.

After trying for three separate books, none of the neighboring books seemed to want to welcome back the orphan.  Nathan decided he'd start a small section on a lower shelf, Victor's books.  And they happily lived there for the time being.

When he'd finished that, he went to the many maps that were sitting on the table and began individually rolling each map, slipping a rubber band around it and placing it neatly in the rack behind him.  When he went on to the next map, the band on the last one snapped.  The band hit him in the butt, causing him to whirl around.  But no one was there.  The map unraveled and fell out onto the floor.  Sighing, Nathan went back to the map, re-rolled and secured it and placed it back on it's shelf.

After the third band left a small sting on his thigh, Nathan realized what was going on.  "You're back, aren't you?  Illuminati never die.  You're here, in another form, aren't you?"

"To whom are you speaking?" the Director asked.

Nathan spun around and stared wide-eyed at the Director.  "I...I was...I..."

"Thank you, Nathan.  That'll be all.  You may go home now."

Happy to be out of the Queen Alien's presence, Nathan grabbed his yellow rain slicker, and ran out of the room.  Smiling, the Director turned out the light and just before closing the door on the library, she looked back into the darkened area and said, "Victor, let's see how much mischief you can cause me tonight in the bath."

The End...Again
